Releases for October 12–18, 2026: Castlevania, Enshrouded, Boltgun 2

The week of October 12–18, 2026 is the busiest of the month before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arrives on the 23rd: Castlevania returns, Enshrouded hits 1.0, Boltgun 2 lands and three Resident Evil games come to Switch 2. Here is the schedule day by day, using the dates publishers have announced for Europe.

Tuesday, October 13

• Planet Zoo 2 (PS5, Xbox Series, PC): Frontier's zoo management sequel adds fully aquatic and flying species for the first time, with aquariums and aviaries, and lets you release your animals into wildlife reserves.
• Valor Mortis (PS5, Xbox Series, PC): a first-person soulslike from One More Level, the Ghostrunner studio. You play a soldier of Napoleon's army brought back from the dead.

Wednesday, October 14

• Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 (PS5, Xbox Series, PC): Auroch Digital's retro FPS sequel adds a second playable character, Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath, alongside Ultramarine Malum Caedo. Mick Gordon (DOOM Eternal) composed the final boss music. A Switch 2 version will follow shortly after, with no date yet.

Thursday, October 15

• Castlevania: Belmont's Curse (PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, PC): Konami's new Castlevania, developed by Evil Empire with Motion Twin (Dead Cells) in an advisory role. You play Rose Belmont, Trevor's daughter, in 1499 Paris and Dracula's castle. The demo has been out since October 1 and your save carries over to the full game. On Nintendo hardware, only a Switch version has been announced.
• Enshrouded (PS5, PC): Keen Games' survival crafting game leaves early access, which began in January 2024, with version 1.0, and makes its console debut. The Xbox Series version has slipped to spring 2027.
• It Takes Two (Switch 2): Hazelight's co-op adventure comes to Switch 2 with higher resolution and smoother performance. If you already own it on Switch, the upgrade is free, and your partner can join with the free Friend's Pass, including from another platform. It launches on the 16th in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
• Ratatan (PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PC): version 1.0 of the rhythm action roguelike from the creators of Patapon, in Steam early access since September 2025. The publisher says October 15, but Nintendo of Europe lists Wednesday the 14th on the eShop: a time zone gap.
• Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea (Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, PC): a new entry in Natsume's farming sim series.
• The Jackbox Party Pack 12 (consoles, PC, Mac, iPad and Apple TV): five new party games played with your phone, including We Forgot a Card, Hyperface and Debate and Switch.

Friday, October 16

• Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition (Switch 2): Capcom's three remakes arrive digitally; boxed copies follow on January 29, 2027. Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition includes the Separate Ways DLC starring Ada Wong.
• Tales of Eternia Remastered (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, PC): a remaster of the 2000 RPG, with quality-of-life features and a toggle back to the original visuals. Steam shows October 15, US time.

The takeaway

For new games, Castlevania and Boltgun 2 compete for fans of retro action, and the Castlevania demo lets you make up your mind before Thursday. For Switch 2 owners, this is mostly a catch-up week: It Takes Two (free if you already own it on Switch) and the three Resident Evil games, ahead of Call of Duty the following week.
