About the game
One year after the events of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, a letter from Luke, now living in America due to family circumstances, brings Professor Layton to Steam Bison. Set at the dawn of the industrial age and powered by revolutionary steam technology, this American town has outpaced even London in its rapid development. A string of mysterious incidents there draws the pair into a new adventure.
In town they meet the twin sisters Elinora and Elida Allinston, one a skilled mechanic with a passion for invention, the other an aspiring stage actress; Bolt Allinston, the wealthiest man in Steam Bison and effectively its mayor; Eggmuffin Sonder, its leading inventor; Sheriff Bobsley; and Mystella, the fortune-teller who keeps track of the puzzles yet to be solved.
As in the rest of the series, the story moves forward through puzzles: you solve them and uncover clues on the way to the truth. The puzzles come from QuizKnock, a media platform led by Takuji Izawa that blends entertainment and knowledge.
Developed and published by Level-5, this new entry has a theme song, "The New World", with music by Joe Hisaishi and lyrics and vocals by Lilas (ikura of YOASOBI). It won the Future Division award at the Japan Game Awards 2024, reserved for unreleased games shown at Tokyo Game Show.
