Riot Games announced on October 14, 2026 that League of Legends Classic will stay available through the rest of Season 3, then end its current run in January 2027. The mode, launched in July, recreated an older version of the game. Riot says most players have gone back to other parts of League.

The studio plans to put Classic "back in the box" for now, aiming to bring it back, likely as an event mode with adjustments and additions.

  • From patch 26.21, the Classic store will only contain champions, runes and rune pages.
  • Act II of the Classic battle pass ships in that patch, with a single free track.
  • Riot is issuing refunds on Classic-specific content that will no longer be usable.
