Machinarium 2 announced by Amanita Design, 17 years after the original

Amanita Design announces Machinarium 2, sequel to the 2009 point-and-click: Josef and Berta are both playable, the Steam page is live, no release date yet.

Published · announced October 8, 2026

Amanita Design announced Machinarium 2 on October 8, 2026 during the Triple-i Initiative showcase, seventeen years after the original game launched in 2009.

The sequel follows Josef and Berta after they flee the city of Machinarium: they find a hidden valley with two robot tribes that are slowly running out of power. You switch freely between the two robots to solve puzzles that need both, with no written dialogue. Backgrounds are still hand-drawn, in a style borrowing from Renaissance landscape painting, and Floex (Tomáš Dvořák) returns to compose the soundtrack.

The Steam page is open for wishlisting. No release date or price has been announced.
