Edge of Memories slips to December 3, Fallout 76 gets companion pets in December, Factorio 2.1 goes stable and Dispatch heads to mobile: Saturday's essentials.
A quiet Saturday fed by Friday's announcements: Edge of Memories slips by a month, Fallout 76 lines up companion pets for December and Factorio 2.1 goes stable.
Edge of Memories delayed to Thursday, December 3
Midgar Studio's action RPG is no longer coming on November 5: Nacon has moved it to Thursday, December 3, 2026, so it doesn't get lost among the big end-of-year releases. Before then, the demo returns to Steam in early November with every improvement made since Steam Next Fest.
Fallout 76: a cat, dog or Deathclaw at your side in December
For Fallout Day, Bethesda detailed World Pets, Fallout 76's December update, which lets you roam with a cat, a dog, a Radhog or a domesticated Deathclaw and refreshes the Skyline Valley region. Over in Fallout 4, two Creations, Command Override and FEVer Dreams, are already playable from the Creations menu.
Factorio 2.1 leaves experimental
After a summer in testing, Factorio's 2.1 update is now stable: a single rocket can carry several item types at once, so a small space platform no longer needs a full stack of each. 2.0 saves still load, but a game saved in 2.1 can't go back to 2.0, so back up before updating.
GameMaker's GMRT runtime goes free for commercial games in 2027
From Friday, January 1, 2027, developers can release commercial games built with GMRT, GameMaker's new runtime, on desktop, mobile, web and GX Games without buying a Professional licence. Exporting to consoles will still take an Enterprise licence and approved-developer status.
Dispatch hits Android and iOS on December 9
AdHoc Studio's superhero game launches on mobile on Wednesday, December 9, 2026, with the first four episodes free and the full game at $19.99, according to IGN and Kotaku. On existing versions, the Deluxe Edition adds a Commentary Mode, where cast and developers talk through how the game was made as you play, and a Storyboard Mode that shows the sketches behind each scene.
Order of the Sinking Star gets a boxed release in 2027
Thekla is teaming up with PM Studios to bring Jonathan Blow's puzzle game to physical formats in 2027: a disc on PS5 and a real cartridge, not a game-key card, on Switch 2. Pre-orders are open at select retailers, with US prices planned at $34.99 on PS5 and $49.99 on Switch 2, for North America and Europe.
