Video game news digest: Saturday, November 7, 2026
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is cancelled before launch, Path of Exile 2 reveals the Shadow for 1.0, and Gears of War turns 20 with a free RAAM.
Sony is pulling the plug on its Ratchet & Clank mobile game before its worldwide launch, while Path of Exile 2 lays out its full release and Gears of War turns 20.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is cancelled
Sony and French studio Oh BiBi have stopped development on their mobile arena shooter, which will never get its global launch. It leaves the App Store and Google Play on Saturday, November 21, 2026, and anyone who already has it can keep playing until the servers go dark on Saturday, May 1, 2027. The final update went out on Friday and in-app purchases are gone, so it is worth spending any in-game currency now. Revealed in November 2025, the game only ever soft-launched in a handful of countries (IGN's report), and Sony has not said why it is ending.
Path of Exile 2 launches with two new classes
At ExileCon, Grinding Gear Games confirmed that Path of Exile 2 goes free-to-play with its 1.0 release on Friday, December 11 (Pacific time), adding the Duelist and the Shadow (official announcements). The campaign is completed by Acts 5 and 6, and the endgame gets a storyline of its own. Launch also brings a new challenge league, Conquerors of Wraeclast, and sweeping balance changes. The original Path of Exile gets its due too: the Covens of Umbra expansion goes live for free on Friday, November 13.
Gears of War turns 20, and RAAM is free in E-Day
Gears of War launched on Xbox 360 on November 7, and to mark today's 20th anniversary The Coalition is giving RAAM away as a multiplayer character to every Gears of War: E-Day player, claimed simply by logging in. A two-week event brings limited-time modes, including Guardian in Versus, where only one leader makes it out alive, and For the Queen in Horde Siege, which disables the supply cache so your squad lives on its loadouts. Season 2, Legacy, starts on Tuesday, December 1, bringing back maps, modes and skins from across the series (The Coalition's post).
PlayStation Plus adds partner offers
PlayStation Plus members on every tier with accounts in the UK, France and Germany now get a set of offers that go beyond games (Sony's list). They include a three-month YouTube Premium trial for new customers, two months of Calm Premium, a movie credit for the Sony Pictures Core app and 10% off selected Sony Electronics gaming gear until December 31. Note that the YouTube Premium and Calm trials turn into paid subscriptions once they end unless you cancel.
Football Manager 27 joins Game Pass on Tuesday
Football Manager 27 comes to Game Pass on PC and console on Tuesday, November 10, alongside TANUKI: Pon's Summer and Warhammer Survivors (Xbox Wire's weekly lineup). Narrative mystery Hope in the City follows on Wednesday the 11th, then the still-in-development strategy game 9 Kings lands in PC Game Pass on Thursday the 12th. Every other release of the week, day by day, is in our November 9–15 release roundup.
Hozy reaches PS5 and Xbox Series on Monday
Come On Studio's home restoration game, out on PC since March 30, arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series on Monday, November 9 (the developers' announcement). There are no timers or scores: you clean, rip out old tiles and then furnish nine spaces, each with its own curated set of items. On PS5, the DualSense lets you feel the floorboards resist the crowbar, and a sandbox mode opens up every piece of furniture in the game.
