About the game
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remakes the Nintendo 64 classic for Nintendo Switch 2. In Hyrule, the Triforce, three golden triangles said to grant the wish of whoever touches it, has long fueled conflict, and Ganondorf, leader of the Gerudo, wants it for himself. Link, a young boy summoned by the Great Deku Tree, sets out with his fairy companion Navi on a quest that spans two different eras.
You explore the kingdom from Hyrule Field, help its people and take on dungeons and temples full of puzzles and monsters, aiming the slingshot or bow with motion controls. Some items can only be used in one of the two eras. Songs learned on the ocarina open new paths or turn day to night; you play them with the buttons, or by humming into the console's microphone.
The remake brings reimagined visuals, a refreshed soundtrack, fully voiced cutscenes and new dialogue. Gameplay has been modernised: Link gets a new dash ability and can jump at the push of a button. The Threads of Time recap the story so far and your current objectives. Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo, due in 2027, unlock special masks.
