Phantom Blade Zero tops 4 million sales, Borderlands passes 100 million, and WoW: Forever and Zelda: Ocarina of Time both launch this week on PC and Switch 2.
Phantom Blade Zero and Borderlands both posted big sales milestones, while Blizzard and Nintendo get ready to launch World of Warcraft: Forever and the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Thief's remaster now has a release date too.
Phantom Blade Zero tops 4 million sales in three days
S-Game says it sold more than 4 million copies in the 72 hours after the October 29 launch on PS5 and PC. The figure went up Monday on the game's official X account, with no platform breakdown. According to Eurogamer, it also counts sales on WeGame, Tencent's Chinese PC store. Black Myth: Wukong is still ahead, with 10 million copies over the same span, as Gamekult points out.
Borderlands passes 100 million copies
Counting every game since the first Borderlands in 2009, the series has crossed 100 million units sold, according to a Gearbox message reported by Eurogamer. Borderlands 4's first year of content is wrapped, and more is in the works for next year, with no details yet. The studio is also rethinking the series as a whole and wants players to say which characters and stories they'd like to see again. Weekly activity refreshes and community challenges carry on in the meantime.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time had fast travel, then lost it
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, due Thursday, November 5 on Switch 2, had warp points during development that the 1998 original never had. Series producer Eiji Aonuma asked for them, then had them removed because they made players miss moments of discovery (Ask the Developer interview). Director HokWai Ng explains another deliberate choice in chapter two: each area keeps its own map, as on the Nintendo 64, rather than becoming one seamless world.
World of Warcraft: Forever goes live Wednesday
Blizzard launches World of Warcraft: Forever on Wednesday, November 4 at 3pm Pacific (11pm in London), at the same moment worldwide (Blizzard's launch times). This permanent new take on the MMO sits alongside modern WoW and WoW Classic, rebuilding the original Azeroth for a level 1 to 60 journey with new zones, dungeons and raids. On first login, you no longer pick a realm: you choose an experience preset, then a ruleset.
Thief: The Dark Project Remastered arrives December 3
The remaster of Looking Glass Studios' stealth classic comes out Thursday, December 3, 2026, with pre-orders open on GOG and the PlayStation Store. Nightdive Studios bundles the 1998 game with the Thief Gold additions from 1999, plus a weapon wheel, a mission selector and modern controller support. On top of that, a brand-new expansion, The Tarnished Mirror, adds four missions set after the first game: back to petty jobs, Garrett is dragged into a conspiracy after stealing a Precursor hand-mirror.
Out today
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, a remaster of the 2002 kaiju brawler, launches on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC. Already out on PC since October 1, Zero Parades: Director's Cut reaches PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2.
