Lightyear Frontier leaves early access on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series. Swedish studio Frame Break says it should arrive early in the evening for European players and early in the morning in the US. Existing saves carry over, so your farm comes with you into 1.0, and if you already own the game there is nothing to buy again.

The story's ending and two new regions

Version 1.0 brings the main story to a close. Once the Colonies reach their final stage, one last delivery remains, the biggest in the game, followed by a new area to explore where you learn what became of the Tall. You can keep playing after the ending.

Two regions complete the map. The Sandswept Highlands, a desert of mesas and ancient ruins, bring new crops, new minerals and answers to the story's big questions. It is a late-game area with advanced resources and tougher Floaters, and you have to go there to finish the game. Perched on its clifftops, the Hollow Marsh is a foggy swamp with blue grass and red water, home to a new tree, the Starfall Tree.

Reworked progression and fewer deliveries

Two new Milestones, 13 and 14, unlock recipes, Crafting Construct tiers, Mods and a new Mech set, while new main missions guide you from the start of the game to the end. Finishing the game takes fewer deliveries, and automation arrives much earlier. The delivery menu changes too: the game checks that you have every required resource, sends them all at once, and lets you queue several deliveries. Research Initiatives, previously a multiplayer feature, now work in single player: you deliver to Prometheus Station to unlock Mods. Frame Break is also adding new difficulty options.

A mech that is easier to upgrade

Every Mech tool, part and Transform Mode now follows a fixed upgrade path, with no separate crafting for each tier. New additions include the Seed Shooter's Minigun Mod Chip, which speeds up planting considerably, and a flying mode for the Skyblazer transform.

Farming, weather and building

Days now flow into each other without a pause, and the weather shifts through the day, with the Weather Station forecasting what's coming. Planning Mode lets you place building holograms without spending resources, and holding the interact button feeds several Constructs in a row. The H.O.E. can now lay dirt or stone paths. The Sawmill, Silo, Furnace and most crafting machines get extra tiers, and Lola sells new kitchen and bathroom decorations. On the map, markers can carry text that other players can see.

Price, platforms and multiplayer

With 1.0, the price rises to $29.99 / €29.99 / £23.49. You can play solo or in online co-op with up to three friends, with cross-platform multiplayer according to its Steam page, and the Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere (one purchase covers console and PC). The Xbox store page does not list it as included with Game Pass: it has to be bought. No PS5 or Switch 2 version has been announced; the studio only says it is looking into ports to other platforms.
