Soulframe opens to every PC player on November 6: how to play for free
Digital Extremes opens Soulframe's free alpha to every PC player on Friday, November 6, no invite needed. Here's how to get in and what's coming next.
No more waiting for an invite: from Friday, November 6, 2026, Soulframe is open to every PC player. Until now, the open-world action RPG from Digital Extremes, the studio behind Warframe, was limited to players picked in weekly draws and to buyers of a Founder pack.
How to play
- Create an account on the official site, soulframe.com: you can do it now.
- On November 6, download the launcher from the site and install the game on a Windows PC.
- Access is free. Founder packs are still on sale and instantly unlock Pacts (the game's classes) and gear, but you no longer need one to get in.
Digital Extremes hasn't given an opening time. The game isn't on Steam yet: for now, its Steam page is there so you can wishlist it and follow its development.
An alpha, not a launch
These "Open Preludes" are still a test build, an alpha the studio keeps updating with free patches shaped by player feedback. Digital Extremes has announced neither a final release date nor dates for any console versions.
Verse of the Veilands, November's big update
The next step is Preludes 17: Verse of the Veilands, due later in November with no exact date yet.
- A world to restore: Ode'n corruption spreads across the isle of Midrath, and you purify its regions one by one. According to PC Gamer, which attended a presentation, the main quest teaches you to stop the siphons draining the world of its color; enemies and resources change as each area is restored, and activities such as fishing open up.
- Your wolf becomes a mount: the wolf pup you raise can finally grow into a rideable Omen Wolf. You need to finish its training, purify two Veilands regions, then brew a Bairnday Biscuit to feed it.
Still to be confirmed
- the exact date of Verse of the Veilands;
- the timeline for a Steam release and for consoles;
- what happens to testers' progress at full launch: Digital Extremes hasn't said anything about it.
