About the game

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, war erupts on the Korean Peninsula as North Korea launches a full-scale invasion. The campaign follows Private Park, a young South Korean soldier who faces combat for the first time with his squad when a routine patrol descends into chaos. Half a world away, Captain Price, now an outlaw, wages his own war outside the system he once served. Missions range from the trenches of Korea to New York, Paris and Mumbai.

Multiplayer focuses on freer movement (mantling, climbing, hanging, jumping) and reworked gunplay: with bloom removed, hipfire goes where the weapon points. At launch there are 12 new 6v6 maps, large maps mixing vehicles and infantry, and Kill Block, a training facility whose modular sections change every round (more than 500 configurations).

In DMZ, the extraction mode, you deploy solo or with a squad into Hajin, an exclusion zone shaped by the aftermath of the campaign, to recover military technology, loot, negotiate or betray, then get out with whatever you can carry.

Development is led by Infinity Ward, with Beenox on PC and Digital Legends on the native Switch 2 version. The Vault Edition adds, among other things, a season of BlackCell; any digital pre-order unlocks the campaign from October 16.
